If the jester's level progression chart shows that it can cast 0 spells of a given level, it gains only the bonus spells it is entitled to based on its Charisma. The jester receives bonus spells based on its Charisma. The save DC for the jester's spells is 10 + the spell's level + the jester's Charisma modifier. ![]() ![]() To learn or cast a spell, a jester must have a Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell's level. It can cast any spell it knows without preparing it ahead of time. Spells: The jester casts arcane spells in a manner similar to a sorcerer or bard. Most jesters prefer light armor that gives them the maximum flexibility needed to perform their acrobatics. Jesters are proficient with light armor and all shields except for the tower shield. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The jester is proficient with all simple weapons, all non-exotic handguns, plus the rapier, sap, short sword, shortbow, and whip. The jesters class skills are Balance, Bluff, Climb, Concentration, Control Shape, Disable Device, Disguise, Escape Artist, Gather Information, Hide, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge (Local), Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty), Lucid Dreaming, Macgyver, Move Silently, Open Lock, Perform, Search, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Speak Language, Tumble, Use Mystic Device, and Use Rope. Jesters vary wildly in age, and you are just as likely to encounter a young adult jester as you are to encounter a middle aged or even old jester. ![]() Jesters may be of any age, though the skills required to become a jester often mandate at least a few years of experience. They live to have a good time, though often their concepts of humor are decidedly unsettling. ![]()
